Links you’d still be comfortable with in two years

We earn links through original data, digital PR, expert contribution and genuine outreach. It’s slower than buying them, and it’s the only version that doesn’t become a liability.

Why the cheap version is expensive

Bought links work until they don’t. Private blog networks get identified. Paid placements dressed as editorial get devalued in bulk. Guest posts on sites that exist only to sell guest posts pass progressively less value as those sites are recognised for what they are.

The uncomfortable part is the timing: the links get devalued long after the invoice was paid and the report celebrated them, so the failure is rarely traced back to its cause. What the client experiences is rankings that stopped working, for reasons nobody can explain.

We build links that are worth having because a real publication decided to include you. That’s slower, produces fewer links per month, and is the only approach where the asset appreciates.

How we earn links

Original data and research

The most reliable link asset available. We help you produce a survey, a benchmark study or an analysis of data you already hold, then pitch it to publications who need something to cite. A single well-executed data piece can earn links for years.

Digital PR

Pitching genuinely newsworthy angles to journalists and editors in your sector. This requires having something to say, so we’re honest about when you don’t yet.

Expert commentary

Getting your team quoted as sources — through journalist request platforms, direct relationships and industry publications. Fast to start and builds author authority alongside the link.

Resource and tool outreach

If you have something genuinely useful — a calculator, a template, a guide — there are curated lists and resource pages that exist to link to it. Real ones, not directories.

Broken link and unlinked mention reclamation

Finding places that already cite you without linking, and links pointing to pages that no longer exist. The cheapest links available and almost always overlooked.

What we don’t do

  • Private blog networks
  • Paid link placements disguised as editorial
  • Bulk guest posting on sites that exist to sell posts
  • Comment, forum or directory spam
  • Link exchanges at scale
  • Anything that requires not telling you where the link came from

Every link we build is reported with its source URL, so you can look at it and judge it yourself.

Pricing

From
Link building retainer$900/month
Digital PR campaign (one-off)$2,500
Data study production and outreach$3,000
Link audit and toxic link review$400

Priced by effort, not per link. Per-link pricing incentivises quantity over quality, which is the opposite of what you want.

FAQ

How much does link building cost?

Link building retainers start at $900 per month. One-off digital PR campaigns start at $2,500, and a full original data study including production and outreach starts at $3,000. We price by effort rather than per link, because per-link pricing rewards volume over quality.

How many links will I get per month?

Fewer than a link seller would promise. A realistic range for a genuine outreach programme is 5–10 quality links per month, varying with your sector, what you have to offer, and how newsworthy your content is. We’d rather commit to a level of effort and report honestly on what it produced than promise a number that can only be hit by lowering the bar.

Are bought links safe?

No. Search engines explicitly treat link buying as a violation, and enforcement has become both more automated and more effective. The practical risk isn’t usually a dramatic penalty — it’s that the links are quietly devalued months later, so rankings decline for reasons nobody connects to the cause. We don’t buy links and we’d advise against anyone who offers to.

Can you remove bad links from a previous agency?

Yes. We audit your backlink profile, identify genuinely harmful patterns, attempt removal through outreach where practical, and file a disavow where it isn’t. A caution: most links that look bad are simply ignored by search engines and need no action at all. Aggressive disavowing removes value you were legitimately receiving, so we’re conservative about it.

How long before links affect rankings?

Links typically take four to twelve weeks to be discovered, evaluated and reflected in rankings. Their effect also compounds — a link’s value grows as the page it sits on accumulates its own authority. This is why link building is a poor fit for short engagements and works well as a sustained programme.
