Meta ads, where the creative is the targeting
Meta’s targeting has largely been automated away. What’s left under your control is creative, offer and measurement — so that’s where we put the effort, with a designer inside the team to make testing fast.
What changed, and what it means
Detailed interest targeting used to be the lever. It mostly isn’t anymore — broad targeting with strong creative now outperforms narrow targeting with weak creative in most accounts, because the algorithm finds the audience if the creative tells it who to look for.
That shifts the whole job. The creative is now the targeting mechanism. An ad that visibly speaks to a specific person will be shown to people like that person. An ad that speaks to everyone will be shown to nobody in particular.
Which makes testing velocity the critical constraint. An account that can test six new creative concepts a month will out-learn one that tests one — and most agencies can’t, because they’re waiting on an external designer.
Saif is in the same team. Failing creative gets replaced in days.

FAQ
How much does Facebook and Instagram ads management cost?
Management starts at $500 per month plus ad spend, charged as a flat fee rather than a percentage. Creative production can be added from $300 per month. A one-off account build and launch costs $600, and pixel plus Conversions API setup $250.
What’s the minimum budget for Meta ads?
Around $500 per month in media. Meta’s delivery system needs conversion volume to optimise — roughly 50 conversions per ad set per week is the commonly cited threshold for stable learning. Below a certain spend you simply won’t reach that, and the campaign will keep re-entering the learning phase.
Why does creative matter more than targeting now?
Because detailed interest targeting has largely been automated away. Broad targeting with strong creative now typically outperforms narrow targeting with weak creative — the algorithm finds the right audience if the creative signals clearly who the offer is for. This makes creative testing velocity the main constraint on account performance.
Do you make the ad creative?
Yes, in-house. Static images, carousels and simple motion are produced by Saif as part of the team, which means a failing creative concept is replaced within days rather than waiting on an external designer. On Meta specifically, this is the difference between an account that learns quickly and one that stalls.
What is the Conversions API and do I need it?
The Conversions API sends conversion events to Meta from your server rather than from the browser, which recovers a substantial share of the data lost to browser tracking restrictions and ad blockers. Most accounts we audit either haven’t implemented it or have it firing duplicate events alongside the pixel. If you’re spending meaningful money on Meta, yes, you need it working properly.
How long before Meta ads work?
Campaigns launch within 7 working days. The first reliable signal usually arrives in two to three weeks, once the learning phase has stabilised. Creative testing is ongoing rather than a phase — the accounts that perform best are the ones still testing in month twelve.
